The New Curate
 The new Curate in his first sermon misquoted his parable saying that "two thousand loaves and two small fishes fed the 5 people".
An old dales character in the congregation was heard to say that "he thought nowt of it as he could have done that himself".
The following Sunday the sermon was the same but this time the quote was corrected to "two small loaves and five fishes fed the five thousand".
Smiling the Curate leaned over the pulpit and said "now then Mr Smith,I don't think you could have done that could you ?"
"Oh yes I could" retorted Smith. "How ?" said the Curate . "Easy" said Smith, "from all that stuff left ower from last week".
