Below you can see a slide show from a short walk around Gargrave taken just after Christmas 2003.
The route starts on the High Green goes over the river bridge and down South Street, along (and through) River Place. Then past the Low Green and along East Street to the main road and then along North Street to the Village hall. Then back along West Street to the Summerseat.
You will see quite a few things, for one thing the architecture ranges from old to very new, not everywhere is a chocolate box cottage. There are a lot of cars parked and there is quite a bit of housing development going on.
Although there is a lot of history in Gargrave, it is also a living place.
